About the photographer and the photographs.

Jakob Arnholtz has since 1980 builded an extensive collection of images of butterflies. Some of my images has been published in a reference book on Danish butterflies. Several of my photos has been on exhibition in Bosnia

Equipment. Most of the photos on this site, are made with 24X36 CONTAX SLR. However, today I use a digital full frame camerabody from Canon combined with Lenses from Carl Zeiss, because of their unique optical quality.

Flash. Because of the often critical depth of field, it can be necessary to use artificial lightning, and from time to time, I use a small hand held flash, which provides me with the necessary flexibility to control the lightning around the animal .

Slide film or diapositive film used to be my preferred media.Today I shoot digital only

Scanning of the slides is accomplished by applying Silverfast Scanning Software, which gives great control and predictable results.
