Om fotografen og billederne.

Mit navn er Jakob Arnholtz, og jeg har siden 1980 opbygget en samling af fotografier, hovedsageligt bestående af billeder af sommerfugle. Nogle af mine billeder er publiceret i Gyldendals bog om Danske dagsommerfugle. Andre har været udstillet i Bosnien, været anvendt i skolemateriale samt i forskellige videnskablige publikationer

Udstyr og teknik. Alle billederne på dette site, er indtil sommeren 2009 fotograferet med 24X36 CONTAX SLR.

Jeg benytter i dag udelukkende optikker fra Carl Zeiss på grund af deres enestående optiske kvalitet. Kamerahuset er dog blevet skiftet ud med et digitalt Full frame kamera

Flash. Af hensyn til dybdeskarpheden, som er meget afgørende ved store forstørrelsesgrader, kan det være nødvendigt at anvende kunstig belysning, og her anvender jeg en lille håndholdt flash, der giver den fornødne fleksibilitet, når belysningen skal styres omkring dyret.

Diapositivfilm som Kodachrome var mit foretrukne medie, indtil jeg i 2009 gik digital. I dag fotografere jeg udelukkende digitalt.
